People v. Drew Peterson: Attorney Greenberg is part of a team of lawyers brought in on the eve of Peterson's trial to fix a broken defense. A flurry of motions were filed attacking the prosecution's evidence, resulting in the prosecution telling the Court, after repeated adverse rulings, that they could not to proceed to trial but instead it would have to appeal. Greenberg spearheaded the appeal, including the oral argument, which was the 1st televised legal proceeding in Illinois history. The appellate court recently dismissed prosecution's appeal. July 2011
People v. L.A.: This defendant was charged in a capital murder case. Attorney Greenberg was appointed by the Chief Judge of the Criminal Court to lead the defense team. On the eve of trial the prosecution, faced with a crumbling case, agreed to reduce the charge to second-degree murder. Instead of death, or natural life, Defendant was sentenced to 20 years, with day for day credit, essentially time served. August 2011
People v. C.L.: This alleged drug kingpin was charged with possession of cocaine. After losing his pre-trial motions, including a motion to suppress the stop of his vehicle, he brought attorney Greenberg in to try the case. He was found not guilty! August 2011
People v. R.G.: Defendant was charged with violating an order of protection by making over 50 calls to his ex within 90 minutes. Notwithstanding cell phone records showing the calls defendant was found not guilty, with the judge noting that she was convinced of his guilt until she heard the cross-examination of the ex. August 2011
